- Home town: Roanoke, Texas
- Years of experience: 4 years
- Favorite aircraft: MD 500, UH-1H
- Why did you become a professional helicopter pilot?
I have always enjoyed flying, but really started loving it when I started skydiving. Once I experienced flying without an airplane, I knew that flying a helicopter was the next best thing I could do. Now I can land with zero airspeed. Let’s see a fixed wing pilot do that!
- What is your most memorable moment as a pilot?
It would probably be the first time I got to take 3 of my kids up for a Christmas flight and see the lights around the DFW area from the air. I think they got a kick out of that.
- If you were to choose any other profession than this, what would it be and why?
I would not change anything; I love exactly what I do. I believe there is a Perfect plan for everyone, and I am definitely in that plan.
- How do you spend most of your time when you are not flying?
I try to spend most of my time with my wife and kids, but when we are not together, I play all sports and love to go camping.
- If you could have any pilot job in the world, what would it be?
I hope to fly search and rescue some day or possibly fly fire fighting missions in the mountains.
- What are some other notable moments in your life?
The most notable would have to be the day I asked Jesus Christ to be my personal Lord and Savior. From that day on, I have known that I am no longer in control and I can just hang on for the ride. The second would be when I married my best friend, Tiffany. Of course, all the kids’ birth days run a close 3
