  • Why did you decide to become a professional helicopter pilot?

The variety of experiences offered as a helicopter pilot is amazing. I would also like to refer to a quote that explains a lot. “"When once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return." Leonardo Da Vinci

  •   What is your most memorable moment as a pilot?

During my first solo I had both doors off and half way into my first downwind the middle seat cushion came down and the flight manual was flapping around. I of course thought it would surly fly out of the aircraft, and id soon be in a tight spot.  After several failed attempts to elbow the seat cushion back into place I realized it was smarter to just fly the aircraft to the nearest taxi way and fix it. Great experience and even better timing.

  •   If you were to choose any profession other than this what would it be and why?

Either the Coast Guard or airport management.

  •   How do you spend most of your time when not flying?

Studying about flying or spending time with friends and family.

  •   If you could have any pilot job in the world what would it be and why?

Id love to fly tours in Hawaii early on in my career but id also love to retire as an EMS pilot in order to use my skills to help save somebody’s life.

  •   What are some other notable moments in your life?

Beating Southlake Carroll 16-15 to win the 2003 Texas 5A State Championship in football, first solo, the time I spent living by the beach in Corpus Christi, and the birth of my first niece Keegan Grace Gotte.
