Congratulations to Sean Turner, 21, of Euless, TX for successfully completing his first solo flight in a helicopter!. Sean, who's helicopter dreams were realized after flying with a family friend, is currently enlisted with the Army National Guard. Sean started flying with Longhorn in December and plans on earning all of his rotorcraft ratings through CFI/CFII by August when he is scheduled to deploy to Afghanistan and/or Iraq. Anyone involved in helicopter flight training knows that doing this in only eight months is an extremely hard task, But with Seans natural talent and determination, along with the almost continuous good flying weather of the DFW area, he should accomplish his goal with ease. But this isn't the only Goal Sean has set for himself, Long term he aspires to "become a versatile pilot, so I can fly everything from missionary work in other countries, to flying skiers/snowboarders to some of the highest peaks in the world. As well as sharing my aviation passion by working as a flight instructor."
Once again all of us here at Longhorn Helicopters would like to say Congratulations and good luck with all of your aviation goals!
